Speech therapy following a stroke, traumatic brain injury or other brain injury that has affected speech, language or communication.
Working to maintain and support communication skills, adapting therapy to each person’s needs and to any changes that may occur as the condition progresses.
Treatment for difficulties with speech sound production and speaking clearly when there is an impairment in the control and coordination of the muscles involved in speech.
Working on orofacial muscle function and movement patterns involving the tongue, lips and jaw, according to each person’s individual needs.
The first step is understanding how these difficulties affect everyday life and what each person would like to regain or improve. From there, we set clear goals and adapt therapy to their individual needs and progress over time.
I also work closely with other healthcare professionals to make sure that therapy is coordinated and meets each person’s needs.
I offer speech therapy sessions in both English and Spanish, adapting to each person’s needs and the language they feel most comfortable communicating in.
